On the Slopes at Sugar Mountain 1-13-11 - Let it Snow!

Today at Sugar Mountain Ski Resort: Six inches of natural snow fell last nigh and it's still coming down. Another round of welcomed snow is expected Saturday into Sunday. Watch it snow through Sugar's live, streaming webcam. Remember the hats and gloves.

Big Red and the Play Yard are back open and more slopes and lifts will open throughout the weekend. Tubing and ice skating are open for all sessions. Enjoy live bluegrass music on Saturday from 4 - 6 PM in the cafeteria.

Located in Blowing Rock NC Appalachian Ski Mountain opened in December of 1968 with 3 slopes and simple rope tows. Today Appalachian has expanded to twelve slopes including two terrain parks serviced by one double chairlift, two quad chairlifts, two conveyor lifts (new in 2010) and one handle-pull lift.
