On the Slopes at Cataloochee 1-20-12

Today at Cataloochee Ski Area: Skiing on 16 trails with 5 lifts and a base of 20-58 inches groomed surface. Military Appreciation Days continue today and Milt and Co. will be playing in the lodge tonight starting at 7 PM. Enjoy popular tunes and a little bluegrass for the soul.

Located in Blowing Rock NC Appalachian Ski Mountain opened in December of 1968 with 3 slopes and simple rope tows. Today Appalachian has expanded to twelve slopes including two terrain parks serviced by one double chairlift, two quad chairlifts, two conveyor lifts (new in 2010) and one handle-pull lift. The base lodge covers 46,000 square feet, is smoke free, and has complimentary WIFI in the restaurant. The Blue Ridge Ski Mountain welcomes skiers of all skills and styles, including snowboarders! Located in the Village of Sugar Mountain on the outskirts of Banner Elk NC Sugar Mountain is the largest NC ski area with twenty slopes and trails spread over 115 skiable acres for all levels of skiing and snowboarding.
