All NC Ski Resorts Open Today with Fresh Natural Snow

February 1: A great weekend for NC Skiing!
Appalachian Ski Mountain is OPEN. Fresh natural snow and skiing on 7 slopes with 5 lifts and a base of 40 - 64 inches.
Beech Mountain Ski Resort is skiing 14 slopes with 7 lifts on a base of 16 - 52 inches. Ice skating and tubing are open. 5 inches of New natural snow
Cataloochee Ski Area will be skiing from the top for all three sessions on 16 trails with 4 lifts on a base of 28 - 48 inches with new natural and made snow. Tube World is open from 4 PM - 10 PM..
Sapphire Valley Ski Area - .Open with 2 slopes and 2 lifts on a base of 28 - 48 inches. Call 828.743.7663 for a live report.
Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is open skiing on 17 slopes with 6 lifts on a base of 35 - 65 inches. Tubing and ice skating are open for all sessions. 8 inches new natural snow.
Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is OPEN skiing 9 slopes with 2 lifts on a base of 34 - 50 inches. The terrain Park is closed but tubing is open

Wolf Ridge Ski Resort Temporarily Closed

Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is temporarily closed today due to storms and a power outage. The Resort anticipates re-opening on Thursday, assuming power is restored.

Located in Blowing Rock NC Appalachian Ski Mountain opened in December of 1968 with 3 slopes and simple rope tows. Today Appalachian has expanded to twelve slopes including two terrain parks serviced by one double chairlift, two quad chairlifts, two conveyor lifts (new in 2010) and one handle-pull lift. The base lodge covers 46,000 square feet, is smoke free, and has complimentary WIFI in the restaurant. The Blue Ridge Ski Mountain welcomes skiers of all skills and styles, including snowboarders! Located in the Village of Sugar Mountain on the outskirts of Banner Elk NC Sugar Mountain is the largest NC ski area with twenty slopes and trails spread over 115 skiable acres for all levels of skiing and snowboarding. There are seven lifts - including one triple, four doubles and two surface lifts. The 700 foot long tubing lanes are serviced by a Magic Carpet lift, all located on the Sugar Mountain golf course. Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is just north of Asheville in the outskirts of Mars Hill NC. The Sapphire Valley Ski Area & Frozen Falls Tube Park is an integral part of the 5,700 acre four-season resort at Sapphire Valley NC. The Ski Area's average elevation is 3400 feet and consists of The Sapphire Streamliner", a 1600 foot main run with a vertical drop of 200 feet featuring a state-of-the-art quad lift. The Frozen Falls Tube Park, is a 500-foot multi-lane snow tube hill with a vertical drop of 70 feet.
