Appalachian Ski Mountain Hosts Ladies Night

February 26 is Ladies Park Night at Appalachian Ski Mountain in Blowing Rock NC. Ladies can enjoy a terrain park area with features specifically designed for learning and progression that will be open to ladies only. We want women of all ages and abilities, both ski and snowboard, to get together and ride in a laid-back environment among friends

Tube World open this Weekend in Maggie Valley

Tube World is open! Located in Maggie Valley, across from Ghost Town in the Sky and 4 miles from Cataloochee Ski Area, Tube World will be open on both Saturday and Sunday from 10am until 6pm with 1hour and 45 minute sessions available beginning at 10, 12, 2, and 4pm . Cost for tubing is $25 per session and you must be 42” tall to ride alone.

There is no two person tubing allowed at Tube World. Tubing is on a first come, first served basis and some sessions do sell out. Should the session you wish to tube be sold out when you arrive, you may purchase a session for later in the day. Wee Bowl, a child’s snowplay area for kids under the 42” height requirement is open for the same session times and the cost is $5 per person.

Located in Blowing Rock NC Appalachian Ski Mountain opened in December of 1968 with 3 slopes and simple rope tows. Today Appalachian has expanded to twelve slopes including two terrain parks serviced by one double chairlift, two quad chairlifts, two conveyor lifts (new in 2010) and one handle-pull lift. Located in the Village of Sugar Mountain on the outskirts of Banner Elk NC Sugar Mountain is the largest NC ski area with twenty slopes and trails spread over 115 skiable acres for all levels of skiing and snowboarding. Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is just north of Asheville in the outskirts of Mars Hill NC. The Sapphire Valley Ski Area & Frozen Falls Tube Park is an integral part of the 5,700 acre four-season resort at Sapphire Valley NC. The Ski Area's average elevation is 3400 feet and consists of The Sapphire Streamliner", a 1600 foot main run with a vertical drop of 200 feet featuring a state-of-the-art quad lift.
