NC Ski Resort Slope Conditions for 3-16-14

With recent cold temperatures and natural snow, slopes conditions are at their best for the last days of the 2013-14 ski season.

Slope conditions and updates as of March 16:

Appalachian Ski Mountain is OPEN - 12 slopes with 6 lifts on a base of 32 - 64 inches.

Beech Mountain Ski Resort is OPEN for skiing and boarding on 12 slopes with 4 lifts on a base of 28 - 78 inches. Day skiing only.

Cataloochee Ski Area is OPEN - 15 slopes with 3 lifts on a base of 40 - 70 inches for day skiing.

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is OPEN - 15 slopes with 5 lifts on a base of 26 - 76 inches for day skiing and boarding. Ice Skating is open. Tubing is open on 4 lanes.

Sapphire Valley Ski Area - Closed for the 2013-14 season.
Wolf Ridge Ski Resort - Closed for the 2013-14 season.

Located in Blowing Rock NC Appalachian Ski Mountain opened in December of 1968 with 3 slopes and simple rope tows. Today Appalachian has expanded to twelve slopes including two terrain parks serviced by one double chairlift, two quad chairlifts, two conveyor lifts (new in 2010) and one handle-pull lift. The base lodge covers 46,000 square feet, is smoke free, and has complimentary WIFI in the restaurant. The Blue Ridge Ski Mountain welcomes skiers of all skills and styles, including snowboarders! Located in the Village of Sugar Mountain on the outskirts of Banner Elk NC Sugar Mountain is the largest NC ski area with twenty slopes and trails spread over 115 skiable acres for all levels of skiing and snowboarding. The Sapphire Valley Ski Area & Frozen Falls Tube Park is an integral part of the 5,700 acre four-season resort at Sapphire Valley NC.
