March 1 Recess Wreck Less Rail Jam at Appalachian Ski Mountain. Recess Ride Shop will be presenting the signature Wreck Less Rail Jam again this season, which is always a great time, and highlights not only some creative and inspiring park features, but progressive formats that stray from the normal 3 drop formula.

Located in Blowing Rock NC Appalachian Ski Mountain opened in December of 1968 with 3 slopes and simple rope tows. Today Appalachian has expanded to twelve slopes including two terrain parks serviced by one double chairlift, two quad chairlifts, two conveyor lifts (new in 2010) and one handle-pull lift. The base lodge covers 46,000 square feet, is smoke free, and has complimentary WIFI in the restaurant. The Blue Ridge Ski Mountain welcomes skiers of all skills and styles, including snowboarders! Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is just north of Asheville in the outskirts of Mars Hill NC. The Sapphire Valley Ski Area & Frozen Falls Tube Park is an integral part of the 5,700 acre four-season resort at Sapphire Valley NC.
