NC Ski Resorts: Slope conditions for 1/13/13

January 13 2013:

Appalachian Ski Mountain: OPEN with skiing and boarding on 10 slopes with 6 lifts on a base of 22 - 44 inches. Ice Skating open for all sessions. Ladies Park Session from noon - 5 PM.

Beech Mountain Ski Resort: OPEN with 10 trails and 5 lifts on a base of 12 - 44 inches. Ice Skating is open for all sessions.

Cataloochee Ski Area: OPEN 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM on 11 slopes with 5 lifts on a base of 18-40 inches. Tube World will be open from 4 PM to 10 PM.

The Sapphire Valley Ski Area: OPEN on both slopes with a base of 24 - 46 inches.

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort: OPEN for all sessions with 13 slopes, 4 lifts and a base of 10 - 40 inches. Ice skating and snow tubing open.

Wolf Ridge Ski Resort: OPEN with 8 slopes and 2 lifts on a base of 24 - 39 inches for skiing, boarding, tubing and ice skating.

Located in Blowing Rock NC Appalachian Ski Mountain opened in December of 1968 with 3 slopes and simple rope tows. Today Appalachian has expanded to twelve slopes including two terrain parks serviced by one double chairlift, two quad chairlifts, two conveyor lifts (new in 2010) and one handle-pull lift. Located in the Village of Sugar Mountain on the outskirts of Banner Elk NC Sugar Mountain is the largest NC ski area with twenty slopes and trails spread over 115 skiable acres for all levels of skiing and snowboarding. Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is just north of Asheville in the outskirts of Mars Hill NC.
