Last Chance for Ski Beech

Beech Mountain Ski Resort goes out with a "Bang" this weekend. The 2010-2011 Ski Season at Beech Mountain ends on its 100th day, Sunday March 13 2011 with the hosting of games and entertainment to celebrate a great season!

Schedule of Events:

11am-Poker Run-Base of mountain at High Speed Quad Lift (just meet at the base of the mountain in front of the Beech Tree Bar and Grille and bring $5, winner takes all)

12pm-Cookout, drinks and live music till 5pm(View Haus)

1pm –EOW boarder/ skier cross series (Registration will be in the View Haus from 9am to 12pm)

2pm- Pond Skimming (Registration in View Haus from 9am to 1pm free entry, must be 18)

400 pm Award Ceremony for Pond Skimming, and EOW series and Raffle drawing for Beech Trip Live
Music from The Harris Brothers, Food, and other Activities for all ages will run throughout the day!

Rates will remain at $20 for day tickets and $10 half day tickets through Sunday

Located in Blowing Rock NC Appalachian Ski Mountain opened in December of 1968 with 3 slopes and simple rope tows. Today Appalachian has expanded to twelve slopes including two terrain parks serviced by one double chairlift, two quad chairlifts, two conveyor lifts (new in 2010) and one handle-pull lift. The base lodge covers 46,000 square feet, is smoke free, and has complimentary WIFI in the restaurant. The Blue Ridge Ski Mountain welcomes skiers of all skills and styles, including snowboarders! Located in the Village of Sugar Mountain on the outskirts of Banner Elk NC Sugar Mountain is the largest NC ski area with twenty slopes and trails spread over 115 skiable acres for all levels of skiing and snowboarding. There are seven lifts - including one triple, four doubles and two surface lifts. The 700 foot long tubing lanes are serviced by a Magic Carpet lift, all located on the Sugar Mountain golf course. Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is just north of Asheville in the outskirts of Mars Hill NC. The Slopes of Wolf Ridge have over 82 acres of ski terrain with 23 Exciting Ski Slopes, 10 Green Family Runs, 3 Black Diamond and 10 Blue Runs . There are 2 Quad Lifts: 2 Double Lifts: 4 Surface Lifts . Two Ski Lodges offer ski/snow board/bibs/helmet/locker rentals, full food service, gift/sport shops and fireside dining and relaxing. The Sapphire Valley Ski Area & Frozen Falls Tube Park is an integral part of the 5,700 acre four-season resort at Sapphire Valley NC. The Ski Area's average elevation is 3400 feet and consists of The Sapphire Streamliner", a 1600 foot main run with a vertical drop of 200 feet featuring a state-of-the-art quad lift. The Frozen Falls Tube Park, is a 500-foot multi-lane snow tube hill with a vertical drop of 70 feet.
