Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, Banner Elk North Carolina. Anyone 70 and older can qualify for complimentary skiing/riding at Sugar Mountain Resort. To obtain your complimentary skiing/riding privileges please visit Sugar Mountain Resort's administration office, located on the second floor of the main lodge building and present a photo ID. A season pass will be issued to you for a processing fee of $10. You may also chose to receive a daily ticket at no charge.http://www.skisugar.com

Located in Blowing Rock NC Appalachian Ski Mountain opened in December of 1968 with 3 slopes and simple rope tows. Located in the Village of Sugar Mountain on the outskirts of Banner Elk NC Sugar Mountain is the largest NC ski area with twenty slopes and trails spread over 115 skiable acres for all levels of skiing and snowboarding. Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is just north of Asheville in the outskirts of Mars Hill NC.
