Learn a Snow Sport in January

January is "Learn a Snowsport Month". FREE Intro to Skiing or Riding lesson at Cataloochee Ski Area with ANY Cataloochee ski or snowboard rental, any non-holiday Monday through Thursday. Appalachian Ski Mountain offers a "Learn to Ski or Snowboard Package" (includes lesson, equipment and ski ticket) for individuals and groups. At the Beech Mountain Snow Sports Learning Center instructors teach contemporary techniques to provide the quickest results. The Sugar Bear Ski School at Sugar Mountain Resort is designed to teach skiing to children ages 5-10. Wolf Ridge Ski Resort provides a top rated Snow Sports School that provides lessons for beginners to intermediate in skiing, telemark skiing, and snowboarding. At Sapphire Valley Ski Area beginners will be taught the FUN-damentals of skiing or snowboarding from our excellent instructors and you will receive personal attention in a structured environment. Located in Blowing Rock NC Appalachian Ski Mountain opened in December of 1968 with 3 slopes and simple rope tows. Today Appalachian has expanded to twelve slopes including two terrain parks serviced by one double chairlift, two quad chairlifts, two conveyor lifts (new in 2010) and one handle-pull lift. The base lodge covers 46,000 square feet, is smoke free, and has complimentary WIFI in the restaurant. The Blue Ridge Ski Mountain welcomes skiers of all skills and styles, including snowboarders! Located in the Village of Sugar Mountain on the outskirts of Banner Elk NC Sugar Mountain is the largest NC ski area with twenty slopes and trails spread over 115 skiable acres for all levels of skiing and snowboarding.
