Beech Mountain Ski Resort is OPEN 
Skiing 6 slopes with 3 lifts on a base of  12 - 64 inches.  March 7 - until  March Madness discounts tickets. Live weekend entertainment.

Cataloochee Ski Area is OPEN  
Skiing 13 slopes with 4 lifts on a base of  16 - 44 inches, day skiing only.  March is Haywood County School System Employees Month.


Sugar Mountain Ski Resort  is OPEN  Skiing 14 slopes with 2 lifts on a base of  15 - 65 inches. March Madness rates in effect. 3/13 - Easter Egg Hunt. Spyder 2017 Sampler Sale continues.  The Tubing park is open with sessions at 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm and 8pm. Ice Skating closed for the season.

NC Ski Report for 1/22/14

Slope conditions and updates as of January 22:

Enjoy the fresh natural snow and perfect NC ski conditions, but bundle up 'cause baby it's COOOOLD out there! Drive with care and use the 4 wheel or all wheel drives if you have them.

Appalachian Ski Mountain is OPEN  - 12 slopes with 6 lifts on a base of 45 - 86 inches.

Beech Mountain Ski Resort is OPEN  for skiing and boarding on 15 slopes with 5 lifts on a base of 38 - 68 inches.

Cataloochee Ski Area is OPEN  - 17 slopes with 5 lifts on a base of 57 - 78 inches for day and night skiing.

Sapphire Valley Ski Area - re-opens Friday at noon on both slopes with 3 lifts and a base of 18 - 50 inches.  Frozen Falls Tubing re-opens Friday at noon for sessions from 10 AM through 6 PM.  Call 828-743-1162 for recorded updates.

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort  is OPEN  - 20 slopes with 8 lifts on a base of 50 - 106 inches for day and night skiing and boarding. Ice Skating is open. Tubing is open on 8 lanes.

NC Ski Report - 2/18/13

February18:
Appalachian Ski Mountain is open today  with 12 slopes and 6 lifts on a base of 50 - 86 inches. Ice skating is open.

Beech Mountain Ski Resort is skiing 15 slopes with 5 lifts on a base of 38 - 78 inches. Ice skating and tubing are open. WEEKDAY PRICING TODAY.

Cataloochee Ski Area will be skiing from the top on 16 trails with 4 lifts on a base of 62- 82 inches.  10 lanes of snowtubing fun from 10am until 6pm with 1 3/4 hour sessions available beginning at 10, 12, 2, and 4pm.

Sapphire Valley Ski Area - is skiing on both slopes with 2 lifts on a base of 20 - 46 inches.  Call 828.743.7663 for a live report.

Sugar Mountain Resort offers great skiing for Presidents' Day Holiday Weekend

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is open skiing on 19 slopes with 6 lifts on a base of 39 - 81 inches. Tubing and ice skating are open for all sessions. Snowmaking and natural snowfall.  BOSS HAWG plays their North Carolina Bluegrass Saturday  between 4 and 6 pm in the Base Lodge. February 16-17: NASTAR at noon on Big Red   The Tubing Park is open with sessions at 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm and 8pm.

All NC Ski Resorts Open Today with Fresh Natural Snow

February 1:   A great weekend for NC Skiing!
Appalachian Ski Mountain is OPEN. Fresh natural snow and skiing on 7 slopes with 5 lifts and a base of 40 - 64 inches.
Beech Mountain Ski Resort is skiing 14 slopes with 7 lifts on a base of 16 - 52 inches. Ice skating and tubing are open.  5 inches of New natural snow
Cataloochee Ski Area will be skiing from the top for all three sessions on 16 trails with 4 lifts on a base of 28 - 48 inches with  new natural and made snow.  Tube World is open from 4 PM - 10 PM..

NC Ski Resorts: Slope Report for 1-18-13

January 18:
With natural snow of 4 - 8 inches fell yesterday with more predicted for Friday. Cooler temperatures will allow snowmaking tonight and the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Weekend will be a great time to visit the NC Ski Resorts and hit the NC slopes.

Appalachian Ski Mountain is open today with 6 slopes and 6 lifts on a base of 10 - 21 inches.

Beech Mountain Ski Resort is skiing 10 slopes with 4 lifts on a base of 14 - 38 inches. Ice skating and tubing are open. New natural snow of 12 inches with more on the way and snowmaking in progress.

Cataloochee Ski Area will be skiing 8 trails with 3 lifts on a base of 12 - 24 inches with 6 inches of new natural snow. Tube World will re-open today at 4 PM.

Sapphire Valley Ski Area is temporarily closed with snowmaking in progress. The Valley hopes to open the tube hill Saturday, January 19th, and the ski hill on Sunday, January 20th, weather permitting. Call 828.743.7663 for a live report.

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is open
with 10 inches of new, natural snow. Skiing today on 14 slopes with 5 lifts. Tubing and ice skating are open for all sessions.

Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is open today with regular hours skiing 6 slopes with 1 lift. 6 inches of natural snowfall yesterday with snowmaking in progress. More trails will open as snow accumulates.

Snow is on the way and it's going to be a great weekend to Ski NC!

With natural snow of 6 - 8 inches in the forecast for Thursday and Friday along with cooler temperatures that should allow more snowmaking,  the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Weekend will be a great time to visit the NC Ski Resorts and hit the NC slopes.

January 17:

Cataloochee Ski Area
will be skiing 3 trails with 2 lifts on a base of 12 - 24 inches. Tube World will re-open today at 4 PM.
Beech Mountain Ski Resort is skiing 6 slopes with 4 lifts on a base of 10 - 38 inches. Ice skating and tubing are open. Snowmaking will begin as soon as temperatures allow.
Wolf Ridge Ski Resort will reopen today with regular hours skiing 4 slopes with 1 lift. Rain is expected to turn to snow early this afternoon with growing intensity through the evening. Forecasts range from 4"-12" total accumulation by morning.
Sapphire Valley Ski Area anticipates  reopening with regular operations on Friday. Snow is on the way the the Valley with colder temperatures allowing more snowmaking.

Beech Mountain Ski Resort: OPEN with 10 trails and 5 lifts on a base of 12 - 44 inches. Ice Skating is open for all sessions.

Cataloochee Ski Area: OPEN 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM on 11 slopes with 5 lifts on a base  of 18-40 inches. Tube World will be open from 4 PM to 10 PM.

The Sapphire Valley Ski Area: OPEN on both slopes with a base of 24 - 46 inches.

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort: OPEN for all sessions with 13 slopes, 4 lifts and a base of 10 - 40 inches. Ice skating and snow tubing open. 

Wolf Ridge Ski Resort: OPEN with 8 slopes and 2 lifts on a base of 24 - 39 inches for skiing, boarding, tubing and ice skating.

Beech Mountain Ski Resort: OPEN with 11 trails and 4 lifts on a base of 14 - 46 inches. Snowmaking as temoperatures allow. Ice Skating is open for all sessions.

Cataloochee Ski Area: OPEN 8:30 AM - 10:00 PM on 13 slopes with 5 lifts on a base  of 16-43 inches with snowmaking planned for today. Tube World will be open from 4 PM to 10 PM.

The Sapphire Valley Ski Area: OPEN on both slopes with a base of 16 - 32 inches.

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort: OPEN for all sessions with 13 slopes, 6 lifts and a base of 12 - 49 inches. Ice skating and snow tubing open. Natural snow and snowmaking in progress.

Beech Mountain Ski Resort: OPEN with 7 trails and 5 lifts on a base of 7 - 32 inches. Snowmaking in progress. Ice Skating is open for all sessions.

Cataloochee Ski Area: OPEN 8:30 AM - 10:00 PM on 10 slopes with 5 lifts on a base  of 10-34 inches with snowmaking in progress. Tube World will be open from 10 AM to 10 PM.

The Sapphire Valley Ski Area: Temporarily closed due to weather.

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort: OPEN for all sessions with 9 slopes, 5 lifts and a base of 6 - 34 inches. Ice skating and snow tubing open. Natural snow and snowmaking in progress.

NC Ski Resorts Open this Weekend

Cataloochee Ski Area:  Operating for day, twilight and night skiing from 8:30 AM - 10 PM on 8 out of 17 slopes with 3 aerial and two conveyor lifts operating. Regular rates are in effect. Appalachian Ski Mountain: Open for skiing and boarding with 4 slopes on a 12 – 24″ base.  Ice Skating will operate on a regular schedule today, with 3 sessions offered at Noon, 2:30, and 7pm. NC Skiing on Hold Awaiting colder weather tomorrow

Only Cataloochee Ski Area remains open for skiing today while all the NC Ski Resorts wiat for anticipated colder weather beginning Thursday. Cataloochee is making snow and Appalachian, Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain hope to resume snowmaking Thursday night.

NC Ski Resort Conditions for 12-17-12

Appalachian Ski Mountain: Skiing temporaily CLOSED due to warm weather.

Beech Mountain Ski Resort:  CLOSED (temporary) but ice skating is open for all sessions..

Cataloochee Ski Area: OPEN  8:30 AM - 4:30 PM with skiing from midstation down on 3 slopes with 2 lifts on a base of 6 - 24 inches.  Night skiing has been postponed awaiting cooler temperatures for more snowmaking.

The Sapphire Valley Ski Area: Opening day for 2012-13 season currently targeted for December 21, with tubing opening on the 19th - weather permitting.

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort:  CLOSED (temporary) due to warm weather.  Ice Skating is open with sessions at 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm.

Wolf Ridge Ski Resort:   2012-13 opening day not yet announced.

Beech Mountain Open Today with Weekday Pricing

December 16 - Beech Mountain Ski Resort is open today from 9 AM to 10 PM with skiing on 4 trails and 2 lifts on a base of 6 - 24 inches. Skating is open from noon to 6 PM. Beech Mountain offers a 7000 square foot outdoor rink located in the center of the Beech Tree Village. Group rates are available and children 4 and under skate free with paying adult.

December 12 - Cataloochee Ski Area is open for skiing on 3 slopes with 1 lift from 9 AM - 4:30 PM. Snowmaking began yesterday and will proceed as continuously as much as temperatures allow. Night skiing is scheduled to begin on Monday, December 17.

and currently scheduled to re-open on December 14.

NC SKi Resorts Update for 12/8/12

Appalachian Ski Mountain: Skiing temporaily CLOSED due to warm weather. Skating is open 12-7 PM.

Beech Mountain Ski Resort:  CLOSED (temporary) and currently scheduled to re-open on December 14.

Cataloochee Ski Area: OPEN  8:30 AM - 4:30 PM with skiing from midstation down on 4 slopes with the Omigosh Double Chairlift and Easy Way Chairlift operating. Once again, guests unhappy with conditions will receive a full refund after one run.  Night skiing will begin on Monday, December 17.

The Sapphire Valley Ski Area: Opening Opening day for 2012-13 season currently set for December 15.

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort: OPEN open for all sessions with 4 slopes, 1 lifts and a base of 9 - 29 inches. Ice skating and snow tubing open.

Wolf Ridge Ski Resort:   2012-13 opening day not yet announced.

Appalachian Ski Mountain Celebrates 50th Anniversary with $5 Lift Tickets

December 1-3 Appalachian Ski Mountain will be celebrating its 50th anniversary by rolling back ski ticket prices to the original 1962 price of $5. This anniversary ticket price is available for daytime ski sessions from 9 AM to 4 PM all three days.

Appalachian is family-owned and operated, employing a staff of 300 to provide a service-oriented "club" like atmosphere. Appalachian offers twelve slopes including two terrain parks serviced by one double chairlift, two quad chairlifts, two conveyor lifts (new in 2010) and one handle-pull lift. The base lodge covers 46,000 square feet, is smoke free, and has complimentary WIFI in the restaurant. ASM is located at 940 Ski Mountain Road in  Blowing Rock NC. The 2012-13 season is scheduled for November 3 2012 - March 24 2013.
