Sugar Mountain (Ski) Resort now OPEN for the 2013-14 Season

November 13, 2013 - Sugar Mountain Resort is the first of the NC Ski Slopes to open for the 2013-14 season. Thanks to a sudden cold snap last weekend the Sugar snow machines were able to crank out enough powder to lay the base for skiing and boarding.

Today 2 slopes are open with 1 lift on a base average of 7 - 30 inches. Ice skating is open but tubing remains closed. Lift/slope ticket prices today are: Adult full day $40; Jr. full day $30; Adult half day $30; Jr. half day $25

Located in Blowing Rock NC Appalachian Ski Mountain opened in December of 1968 with 3 slopes and simple rope tows. Today Appalachian has expanded to twelve slopes including two terrain parks serviced by one double chairlift, two quad chairlifts, two conveyor lifts (new in 2010) and one handle-pull lift. Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is just north of Asheville in the outskirts of Mars Hill NC. The Slopes of Wolf Ridge have over 82 acres of ski terrain with 23 Exciting Ski Slopes, 10 Green Family Runs, 3 Black Diamond and 10 Blue Runs .
