High Country Race at Ski Beecn

The Edge of the World Boarder Cross series is back at Ski Beech and this year, the series is open to skiers. The boarder/Skiercross series will have five total dates: January 23 and 30, February 6, and 13, and March 6. The entry fee is $15 dollars and contestants may pre-register at Edge of the World or the day of the event from 9am to 12pm in Group Sales. Registration is $15 dollars and is open to all ages. Tube World in Maggie Valley open Sunday 10AM - 6 PM

Tube World located in Maggie Valley, four miles from Cataloochee Ski Area will be open from 10am until 6pm with 1hour and 45 minute sessions available beginning at 10, 12, 2, & 4pm . Cost for tubing is $25 per session and you must be 42” tall to ride alone. There is no two person tubing allowed at Tube World. Tubing is on a first come, first served basis and some sessions do sell out. Should the session you wish to tube be sold out when you arrive, you may purchase a session for later in the day. Wee Bowl, the children’s snowplay area for kids under the 42” height requirement is open for the same session times and the cost is $5 per person. Read more about Tube World...

In support of January’s Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month, Cataloochee is offering FREE ANY LEVEL ski or snowboard lessons any non-holiday Sunday - Friday with the purchase of a lift ticket & Cataloochee ski or snowboard rental.  And as an added bonus, the first 250 persons signing up for a lesson will receive a FREE non-holiday Monday - Friday lift ticket to return this season.  Lesson times are at 9:30, 11:30, 1:30, 3:30, 5:30, and 7:15pm and you should plan on being at the area at least 30 minutes prior to your chosen lesson time to sign up.  Get details about Cataloochee and all ski resorts in North Carolina

Wolf Ridge Ski Resort Update
: Its SUNDAY and we had an incredible Saturday at the Wolf yesterday. Its 27 degrees on the Mountain and the weather man is calling for light snow today. There are 22 runs and 5 lifts in full operation today as well as both upper and lower lodges open for ticket and rental purchases. We will be on our Holiday Rates and Extended Hours Schedule with NO SUNDAY SPECIAL this weekend. The slopes open at 9.00am and close at 10.00pm so get here early to get your equipment and shred the snow!!!

Beech Mountain Ski Resort reports a total of 8+ Feet of Snowfall in 45 days! Due to an increase in natural snow accumulation, Beech Mountain Resort will not be making snow during the day session for the remainder of the week. $15 lift ticket and $15 ski rentals on snow days are available to teachers and students whose school is closed due to snow (day session only).  Beech Mountain Resort will be charging $30 day and $20 half day tickets MLK Friday and Monday! Update from Cataloochee Ski Area in Maggie Valley NC: We have received 6" of new snow at 8 PM on Friday evening and it is still currently snowing. We will be skiing on 100% of the mountain on 16 out of 16 slopes with three aerial lifts and two conveyor lifts operating on a base of 46-80” and a powder surface. We offer three sessions of skiing, day skiing from 8:30am until 4:30pm, twilight skiing from 1pm until 10pm and night skiing from 6pm until 10pm with an afternoon half day rate also available.
